In 2015 and 2017, I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in mechatronics.
In 2017, I joined Torsten Kröger at the Intelligent Process Automation and Robotics Lab as a member of scientific staff before joining Franziska Mathis-Ullrich as doctoral candidate in 2020 at the Health Robotics and Automation Lab.
My research interests focus on machine learning for robot-assisted surgery. That includes machine learning methods such as reinforcement and imitation learning to learn motion policies, as well as learning models for robot perception, such as semantic segmentation.
In 2022, I visited the Altair Robotics Laboratory in Verona under the supervision of Paolo Fiorini, where I worked on sim-to-real transfer of visuomotor policies for deformable object manipulation, trained with reinforcement learning.
