SPARC Researcher Wins Best Dissertation Award
We are thrilled to announce that our Postdoctoral Researcher Dr.-Ing. Ramy Zeineldin has received the Best Dissertation 2023/2024 award for his PhD thesis titled “Deep Multimodality Image-Guided System for Assisting Neurosurgery” from the faculty of informatics, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Dr. Zeineldin’s doctoral thesis focused on the development of DeepIGN, a novel peri-operative image-guided neurosurgery system designed to tackle critical challenges in brain tumor surgeries.
This research was conducted in close collaboration between KIT, Hochschule Reutlingen, and University Hospital Ulm under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Franziska Mathis-Ullrich and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Oliver Burgert and was funded by the DAAD German Academic Exchange Service.
